Mission Statement

The Mission Folk Music Festival Society is here to promote, preserve, and nurture folk and traditional music and its cultural heritage. Its primary project is the production of the annual Mission Folk Music Festival.

Description

The organization started with the first Mission Folk Music Festival in August of 1988 and was founded by musicians for musicians and music lovers. It incorporated as a society on 1990 and became a registered Canadian Charity in 1991. The festival has grown from a one day festival with one stage and an audience of several hundred in its first year to a full weekend event with four stages and an audience of several thousand.
