Mission Statement

The Service Center of Catholic Social Services continues the mission of Jesus Christ by assisting individuals in Mobile County who lack the basic necessities of life. Assistance is provided regardless of a client's race, creed, gender or age. Our goal for our clients is stability and self-sufficiency to become active, productive members of the community.

Description

The Service Center is an emergency financial agency. Our mission is to provide assistance to those who have lost their income or suffered an interruption of income due to an unforeseen circumstance. Our assistance focuses on the essentials of life - shelter, food, clothing.

This opportunity was face paced and i enjoyed seeing the faces of the people i helped by giving them the bags of food. Once the people started showing up it was in waves which helped me feel as if I was actually helping unlike other places I've worked that seemed as if I was just standing around. Working for the Curiosity Closet which is also connected to the Catholic Social Services also makes me feel as if someone is benefiting from my assistance. I highly recommend working with them.
