The Mentor Center endeavors to be the region's premiere mentoring organization. Its mission is to provide effective and consistent, high quality mentoring to at-risk youth, by empowering and promoting personal, cultural and academic development. And to have fun!

Description:
The Mentor Center provides one-on-one mentoring opportunities to school aged youth in Carson City and in the rural areas served by Western Nevada Community College. The goals of our program are to uncover self-confidence, social competence and caring in a young person so they may be encouraged to develop to their full potential. - and most importantly - to have fun!
Mentor Profile:
A volunteer should be at least 18 years old and be willing to spend a minimum of one hour a week with a young person for a period of 12 months. After screening & training, you should be prepared to have your life enhanced by the relationship you develop with your young mentee!
