Mission Statement

Our mission is to impart knowledge to individuals and help them overcome their circumtances by taking control of their situations and rising to higher heights through skills attainment in reading, writing, math, computers, nutrition, physical health and fitness.

Description

Our program is designed to create a loving, safe, caring, learning environment, with adult supervision, year round; for working parents and their children who would otherwise be " Home Alone" during the times they are out of school and before their parents return home. In addition to academic enrichment, parents are still recovering from Katrina/Rita and our programs eliminate the worry of child care. The after school and out-of-school time programs offer participants positive alternatives to risky behaviors. Our multifaceted program includes six components: Summer Day Camp, extended care for school age children (before and after school), Life Planning, Adult Day Care, Family Literacy Program and a Child Development Center. Our participants are citywide; including our neighboring parishes of St. Bernard and Jefferson. The participants are between 5-15 years of age. Our program is opened to all races, socio-economic status and sexes. During the school year, we enroll forty participants and their parents in our literacy component.
