Description

La Comida is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults over 60 by providing 3 key benefits:

  • Nutritious and affordable meals
  • Opportunities to socialize and be part of a community
  • Connections to activities and services offered by non-profit partners.
La Comida serves a diverse population of seniors from all walks of life.

Our main volunteer programs are Monday-Friday 9:30am-12:45 p.m. Volunteers play an integral and essential role in welcoming and serving seniors. Volunteers work in small teams along with other volunteers and dedicated staff.

Lunch is served Monday-Friday 11:15 am - 12:15 pm at a main dining site in downtown Palo Alto (located at the Avenidas Center) and two satellite locations in Palo Alto.

All seniors are welcomed regardless of inability or failure to pay. A $3 voluntary contribution is welcomed from adults 60 and over; $8 for their guests under 60. La Comida receives partial funding from the City of Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, State of California and federal government.

La Comida has been serving seniors in the community since 1972.

La Comida values volunteers' talents and energy, and strives to offer a rewarding and enjoyable volunteer experience.
