Prairie Hill Waldorf School awakens the capacity for dynamic thinking, creativity, and compassion, inspiring children to contribute their unique gifts to the world.
You notice how different Prairie Hill Waldorf School is the moment you walk through the doors. The colorful artwork and inviting colors; the singing streaming from the classrooms; the children who love to come to school ready to learn - Prairie Hill is the kind of place where, when parents walk in, they say, "I wish I had gone to school here!"
For over 25 years, Prairie Hill Waldorf School has offered more than a strong academic foundation; we engage each child, cultivating the inner resources and life skills so necessary for future success in our rapidly changing world.
Our early childhood programs start with the Parent-Child playgroups which introduce parents to simple, creative ways to support their child's developing capacities. The Wonder Garden and Kindergarden programs foster the curiosity and joy of childhood and build self-confidence, social skills and pre-academic skills that form the foundation of the formal learning in the grades.
Students in Grades 1-8 receive an education that integrates the artistic and creative with rigorous scientific and intellectual study. In addition to the core curriculum, students study a foreign language, chorus, woodwork, handwork, strings, recorder, gym and drama.
Our graduates go into the world with skills and knowledge that they can call upon no matter what path they choose.
