Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement:

The Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation enables single parents of children

Our Vision Statement:

By caring for the single caregiver we care for the child.

Description

The Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation is an organization born out of the personal tragedy of Valerie Sobel, who lost her son, Andre, to a malignant brain tumor. She has since dedicated her life to the work of assisting single parents (within 24 hours) who have children suffering from a catastrophic, life-threatening illness.

Our Foundation has helped more than 2,000 single parent families over the last seven years. Our program currently operates through six children's medical institutions in California (Children's Hospital Los Angeles, UCLA's Mattel Children's Hospital, Institute for Families, Jonathan Jaques Children's Hospital in Long Beach, City of Hope in Duarte, Stanford University's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and additional affiliations pending in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties). Without ASRL's support many children with life-threatening illnesses would be facing pain, treatments, fear and, at times, even their death, without a parent by their side.
