Description
Aiken Senior Life Services, (formerly The Aiken Area Council on Aging, Inc. [AACOA]) was organized in 1969 to become a "focal Point" for information, referral and counseling for older adults and their families. The AACOA received its charter as non-profit corporation from the South Carolina Secretary of State in 1971. In 1995 the Board of Directors amended the agency’s charter to add provision of transportation services to the general public.
In 2016, AACOA started doing business as Aiken Senior Life Services to better reflect its involvement and mission in the community.
The AACOA is the "Focal Point" for services for seniors and is a provider of coordinated transportation services to the public in Aiken County.
