Mission Statement

Ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of individuals in the community by providing nutritionally sound meals to those persons who, because of age, physical disability, or convalescence, are unable to prepare meals for themselves

Description

Meals on Wheel of Benton County formed in 1984, when several churches in Rogers recognized the need to provide food and daily contact to those who due to age or infirmity were isolated and unable to provide meals for themselves. The first meals were delivered on March 11, 1985.

The MOWBC staff prepares meals from scratch each morning. All clients receive one meal per day, Monday through Friday, with the option of a second meals on Friday for the weekend.

Each meal consists of an entree, two side dishes, a dessert and a drink

Meals are delivered each day by volunteers who donate their own time and vehicles to help those in need.

MOWBC is a 501c3 non-profit organization and is a member of Meals on Wheels Association of America.

MOWBC receives NO State or Federal funding. We are completely funded by private and corporate donations and grants, organizational fundraisers, food donations and volunteer workers. This enables our organization to serve anyone in the community in need without restriction due to age, income or lack of disability.

The majority of our food provided to clients is provided by our partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
