Indiana Mothers' Milk Bank Mission Statement:
The Indiana Mothers’ Milk Bank safely screens, collects, pasteurizes and distributes donor human milk to premature babies, ill children and others who may benefit from the protective and healing properties of human milk.
Description
We are one of only ten non-profit human milk banks in the country. We collect milk from screened donors, pasteurize and analyze it, then distribute it to sick and in-need infants throughout Indiana and the Midwest. August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month and to celebrate, the Indiana Mothers' Milk Bank, in collaborations with its sponsors, brings the Lactation Stations to the Indiana State Fair. This tent will provide nursing mothers with a private, comfortable place to breastfeed their children. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth and perform various simple duties, including keeping brochures filled and greet families. Each volunteer will receive free admission to the Indiana State Fair as well as a t-shirt.
