Mission Statement
The mission of the National Youth Science Foundation is to honor, sustain, and encourage youth interest and excellence in science by conducting comprehensive informal science education programs that provide opportunity for constructive interaction with others and emphasize the social value of thoughtful scientific careers. Until recently, the Foundation has carried out its mission primarily through the National Youth Science Camp, an experiential immersion into science and leadership which brings together more than 100 high-achieving high school graduates (two from each state and several others from foreign countries), a group of top scientists, and a talented staff for several weeks of interaction and learning at a secluded natural area in West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest.
Description
Promote science and technology to high school students from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
