Description

We are a mentoring organization, mentoring disadvantaged youth 10-18 years of age. Our mentoring is one-to-one, group, community based, and school based. STAAR Foundation is based inside if the Oak Grove Community Apartments.

We partner with the Oklahoma City Housing Authority and Rockwood Elementary School, to provide after school mentoring for Rockwood students in a collaboration called RockSTAAR.

We use curriculum from the Search Institute called Igniting Sparks. Igniting Sparks provides meaningful group mentoring activities for kids in any setting.

Activities for students are creative and asset-bssed. Mentees learn teamwork, creative problem solving, how to express personal values, and diversity appreciation just to list a few of the age appropriate activities provided in our safe setting.
