Description

Our terrific kids program recognizes elementary and middle school students who demonstrate good citizenship and positive attitudes. We provide scholarships to a graduating high school senior from the 3 high schools within our community. Each summer we send children to Kamp Kiwanis for 2 weeks. We adopt community families throughout the year and provide them with holiday gifts, food baskets, school supplies and other needed items. Through our school district, we provide support to a child/family for the holiday season which may include food, clothing, household items, toiletries, toys, books, etc. We refurbish wheelchairs and distribute them as needed. We provide assistance to the 2 food pantries located within our community. One of our current projects is collecting toiletry kits for our military. We provide physical as well as financial support to a Long Island Alzheimer's organization as well as help out at the Long Island Special Olympics. We also contribute to a Kiwanis International project which is working to elimate infant tetanus. We run neighborhood food drives, providing boxes of food to community families in need. We also assist with beautifaction projects within the Levittown community.
