Mission Statement

The mission of BAYCAT is to educate, empower and employ underserved youth and young adults to produce digital media that tells their unique stories and engages them to positively transform themselves, their communities and the world. BAYCAT believes every person's story matters. We envision a world where media and technology facilitate the telling and the hearing of stories from the broadest possible range of experiences in a way that moves people to create positive change in their communities.

Description

BAYCAT is seeking an energetic, creative and resourceful Class Volunteer to be part of our education team for the Spring Semester. The ideal candidate is someone with some knowledge of media practices (video, music, motion graphics) who would like to broaden their production experience by assisting in our media arts classes. Though this position is unpaid, you'll have access to a state-of-the-art digital media facility and will be able to hone your own production skills through assisting a class of youth. You'll also be connected to our community of producers and youth educators. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in media arts education who would like a hands-on experience in an after-school classroom.
