Mission Statement

Police Volunteers provide extra "eyes and ears" for the Police Department by performing uniformed foot, vehicle and Segway patrols.

Description

Our VIPS (Volunteers In Police Service) are trained to observe and report conditions requiring the services of the regular police. Whenever possible, they assist in non-enforcement and non-hazardous duties.

The following are some areas in which the Police Volunteers assist the Police Department:

  • Residential and commercial areas
  • Administrative tasks
  • Community festivals, parades, concerts, street fairs, park patrols
  • Crime prevention activities
  • Traffic control at special events

i think this is a great opportunity,i would enjoy doing it because i was Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps in high school.I did different stuff in there i was a raider,and also did security guard a couple of times.The greatest part of this was learning all the good things that a citizen should ,such as the star spangled banner,how to fold the U.S etc. I did enjoy it because as a cadet and looking forward to do something close to it and challenge my self like i did in the program.
