The Stage Project

The Stage Project’s mission is to empower the youth in our community to make positive life choices through engagement in the arts. Our target populations are kids (ages 12-18) who are experiencing difficulties or hardships in their lives. These kids may currently be facing difficulties in school or lack an emotional support system, or they may be at-risk for drug/alcohol or gang involvement. Our goal is to get these kids to find a positive and creative outlet for their energy so they can begin to feel better about themselves and their future.

The Stage Project provides community members an opportunity to share their artistic talents matching them with the artistic aspirations of mentees, leading to healthy activities aimed at keeping mentees focused on skill building and staying safe, healthy and out of trouble. Stage Project mentors foster the personal growth and enrichment of a mentee’s life by providing them with new skills in a caring and supportive environment that will strengthen their abilities in their chosen area of creativity. When Mentees are ready, the Stage Project provides them with opportunities to perform publically.
