Mission Statement
We are a faith based program partnering with parents to help their child reach their full potential in relationships, schooling, the community, and life. Our program consists of ages 6 weeks old to 12 years old. At Bubbling Brook Child Care Center, it is our goal to promote, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional development in the infants, toddlers, and preschool children that we care for.
Description
Here at Bubbling Brook, we follow the creative curriculum approach to planning activities that meet the needs and ages of all the children. Creative Curriculum is a proven system that streamlines assessment, reporting, and program planning for early childhood educators. We also use Teaching Strategies Gold, which is an assessment tool to conduct early childhood assessment. Our staff had to attend trainings to learn about the curriculum and the assessment tool. We are one of two centers in the Duluth area that have earned a two star parent aware rating, and we are currently going for a four star rating. To earn a parent aware rating, our staff had to attend many trainings.
We offer a variety of choices and opportunities for children to explore and to be able to learn new skills. In our infant room, teachers encourage growth through a variety of different activities appropriate for their stage in development. For example, tummy time, rolling over, sitting up, crawling, walking, and eventually feeding themselves. In our toddler room the teachers are working on self-help and language skills. They will encourage the toddlers to dress themselves for outside time and work on being independent in the bathroom. They have music and story time, and also have different learning centers (sensory table, art table, music area, book area, block area, and dramatic play) for the children to explore and learn new skills. In the Preschool room they have a more structured learning environment to help get them ready for school. They have chapel one day a week, large group time for calendar and daily lessons, and different learning centers (sensory table, art center, science/Math, music/movement, dramatic play and a reading area) for the children to explore and learn new skills. We also have a gym and outdoor area for all the kids to help enhance their large muscle skills. In the summer we offer an 8 week Step Up to Soccer program.
