Mission Statement

Santa Barbara Open Streets is a celebration of people-powered movement to promote better health, flexibility and FUN!

We temporarily close streets to automobile traffic, so that people may use them for walking, bicycling, dancing, playing, and socializing.

Open Streets events are an innovative way to achieve environmental, social, economic, and public health goals.

Description

During Santa Barbara Open Streets each year over 2.5 miles of Cabrillo Blvd and the Funk Zone transform into a celebration of people-power to promote better health, flexibility and FUN! Thousands of participants enjoy the streets as they usually can't: without cars, fumes or traffic. The Coalition for Sustainable Transportation or (COAST) proudly presents SB Open Streets and brings our community together...and our streets alive. ¡Calles Vivas! Join us!
