Mission Statement

The mission of Fountain Gate Life and Wellness, Inc., is to represent the redemptive love of Jesus Christ by promoting healing and wholeness in our community. Our primary services include sliding scale professional counseling, as well as low-cost groups, seminars, workshops, and retreats on a variety of topics related to physical, mental, and spiritual health. Additional activities, such as a robust community gardening program and wellness and life-skills training, will be focused on promoting healthy and balanced lifestyles with the goal of enabling individuals to live full and productive lives.

Description

Fountain Gate was incorporated in 2007 and began operations on June 1, 2008 with the opening of Fountain Gate Counseling Center in downtown historic Kennesaw. Our professional counseling services are offered on a low sliding scale based on household income and family size; while similar services typically cost $80 - $120 per hour in our community, our scale goes as low as $10. Since 2008, we have provided over 15,000 sessions of subsidized counseling.

In addition to these services, we have offered 49 workshops through our therapeutic and educational workshop program. These workshops last anywhere from two hours to two days and are also offered at low or no cost to the general public.

In 2012, we launched our newest program, Fountain Gate Gardens. Our ultimate vision is to develop the three acres of historic farmland adjacent to our counseling center in Kennesaw as a therapeutic community garden, featuring individual garden plots for community members, larger plots for raising food for charities, walking paths, therapeutic gardens, and accommodations for handicapped participants. The gardens currently include the 26-bed Historic Kennesaw Community Garden and the Plant a Row for the Hungry garden, which in 2013 provided over 2,000 pounds of organic produce for the Center for Family Resources food bank in Marietta.
