Mission Statement

To provide greater Staten Island with the highest quality of symphonic music concerts, feathuring diversity in both music & musicians with creative programing open to the public at low or no ticket cost. To educate not only its audiences but also include them directly in student mentoring programs and outreach programs hence continually improving the quality of life in its community.

Description

The Richmond County Orchestra celebrates 7 years of providing the public with a full symphonic orchestra (65 members plus) as well as smaller professional groups when needed. Under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia RCO has won awards, has affiliations with the New York Philharmonic and has been able to attract world class solists of both local & international fame.It performs 6-10 public concerts per season and serves SI with a ballet, modern dance, opera, musical theatre as well as a new music orchestra, performing several world premieres of living composers per season as well as the traditional literature. It has released two CD's and is reqularly featured on NYC cable TV & radio stations. It continues to include local NYC artists, musicians, dancers, singers, poets, both on and off SI and consantly seeks to present the best talent available year after year.
