The Reds Rookie Success League is an introductory baseball program for boys and girls. Programs will run two days a week for four weeks

Description

Reds Rookie Success League (RRSL) Dayton is looking for community members who want to be a part of real change in our communities and who understand the importance of guiding youth. RRSL is a character building baseball camp for Boys and Girls ages 7-12, in its 6th year in Dayton. Using the acronym CI-REDS, we teach the 6 STAR words of success (Cooperation, Integrity, Respect, Education, Determination, and Spirit) to inner city youth in Dayton and in the surrounding communities through the game of baseball.

RRSL Dayton operates on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning June 8 and ending June 30 and is held at Action Sports Center, 1103 Gateway Drive, Dayton 45404. Volunteers are needed in all capacities for each of the 8 days of operation and should plan to arrive at 9:00AM and stay until 1:00PM. Lunch is provided each day as well as a trip to the Xenia Scouts game and Dayton Dragons game. Volunteers who attend 2 or more days will receive a program t-shirt and tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game. Training will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 7-8:30PM at Action Sports Center (a light dinner will be provided).

As a component of the Reds Community Fund, the non-profit of the Cincinnati Reds, this free program blends the tradition of baseball with character based curriculum specially designed for at risk and inner city youth. Along with baseball and softball instruction, participants meet local baseball talent and daily motivational mentors from the community who engage children with CI REDS.
