Mission Statement

The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (MSPP) educates students for careers that meet the growing demand for access to quality, culturally competent psychological services for individuals, families, communities & organizations both locally & around the globe. We offer graduate programs attentive to the needs of vulnerable populations including children of adversity and the needs of specific populations such as Latinos and veterans, as well as organizations and leaders on the forefront of creating social change. The foundation of our training provides growing professionals with hands-on experience at more than 350 field placement sites, preparing them to address the complex problems in an increasingly diverse world.

Description

The mission of the PATHWAYS Program at MSPP is to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions aimed at reducing suspension and truancy rates, enhancing school attendance and engagement, increasing graduation rates, and improving academic and social-emotional outcomes among at-risk urban youth. Additionally, the program aims to build capacity within the school setting and home environment, improve partnerships with community-based and youth-serving organizations, and secure resources to maintain the long-term sustainability of the services provided.
