NAMI Sacramento provides mutual support, resources, advocacy, and education to the families, friends, and persons with mental illness to improve their general welfare and treatment.

Description

NAMI Sacramento is an all-volunteer organization affilliated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and NAMI California. We provide resource & referral information over the phone and through our web site regarding community services. We offer structured educational programs regarding mental illness, its impact, & overcoming its challenges. We advocate for policies & programs that aim to improve the lives of people who have a mental illness through letter-writing campaigns, offering testimony to policy-making bodies, partnering with other local organizations, and joining community-driven activities. We publish a newsletter, hold meetings, and offer support groups regularly.
