I reached out to the California Preservation Foundation for a volunteer opportunity they had listed - writing quiz questions for online video modules. My first few interactions were great! They replied quickly and were very friendly, I spoke with someone on the phone about the opportunity, and they sent over some materials for me to review prior to getting started. After that - radio silence. I followed up a few times with no response. Perhaps they found someone else to help? However, it's really unprofessional to not let volunteers know, even to send a quick reply that help was no longer needed. Would not recommend volunteering with them.
