The California Preservation Foundation is the statewide nonprofit organization that educates and advocates for the preservation of California's diverse cultural and architectural heritage.
For more than 40 years, the California Preservation Foundation (CPF) has been the leading state-wide nonprofit dedicated to the protection of California’s diverse cultural heritage and historic places. Working with an extensive network, we provide statewide leadership, advocacy, and education on matters of historic preservation. CPF offers on-site technical assistance and direct support through our Field Services program, and is a nationwide leader in historic preservation education.
I reached out to the California Preservation Foundation for a volunteer opportunity they had listed - writing quiz questions for online video modules. My first few interactions were great! They replied quickly and were very friendly, I spoke with someone on the phone about the opportunity, and they sent over some materials for me to review prior to getting started. After that - radio silence. I followed up a few times with no response.
Perhaps they found someone else to help? However, it's really unprofessional to not let volunteers know, even to send a quick reply that help was no longer needed. Would not recommend volunteering with them.
