Position Overview: We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to serve as Front Desk Receptionists. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, have a keen eye for detail, and want to gain valuable experience in a dynamic museum setting. Responsibilities: Visitor Greeting: Welcome and assist visitors at our front desk, providing them with a warm and informative introduction to the museum. Square Payment Processing: Learn and use the Square payment system for handling ticket sales and transactions. Safety Policy: Inform visitors about our safety policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Souvenir Inventory: Help with managing and organizing souvenir inventory, including restocking items and assisting with sales. Qualifications: Friendly Demeanor: Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards interacting with visitors. Attention to Detail: Ability to handle transactions accurately and manage inventory efficiently. Quick Learner: Willingness to learn and use the Square payment system and other museum tools. The American Military Museum has a great need for Volunteer Tour Guides at our facility on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays anywhere from 10am-4:30pm. Under the supervision of the Museum Director you will be trained to conduct tours for visitor groups. Veterans and multiple language speakers are a plus, but anyone willing to learn and share military history with others are needed. The museum and its' many vehicles and other objects on display are a wealth of information for our diverse group of visitors Any type of commitment from 1 time a week to 1 time a month is needed. Calling all artists and artists to be!! Those with great design and art skills are needed! The museum needs your art skills to help with creating nice signs for days we need them. Re-painting old signs to make them look nice and presentable to the general public as well as stenciling/painting on historical vehicles. The museum is geting a cricut machine to help !! We have stenciling machines to make your job easier and the supplies to paint for all these projects. All we ask for is your donated time and skills. If you have these skills, and love to help a non-profit organization that has really cool historic vehicles, come and help us out! Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for nonprofit work, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience or interest in fundraising. You will play a crucial role in organizing and managing fundraising efforts to support our museum's programs and initiatives. Responsibilities: Fundraising Projects: Develop and manage fundraising campaigns on platforms such as GoFundMe. Create compelling campaigns that resonate with potential donors. Grant Applications: Identify and apply for public and private grants to secure additional funding for the museum. Charitable Outreach: Reach out to organizations and potential donors to solicit charitable contributions and sponsorships. Campaign Strategy: Assist in creating and implementing strategies to enhance fundraising efforts and reach financial goals. Our museum is open on Fri-Sun from 10:00am to 4:30pm. We need a museum docent for Friday-Saturdays or Sundays . We could definitely use a hand in educating visitors from our community and young school groups that mainly come in on Fridays. Docent shifts can range from 9am to 1pm or 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Before opening, we do our safety checks and make sure the museum is ready to be opened. We set up small displays and any other signs we need for that day. At the end of the day, we help with cleaning up the museum. If you thoroughly love history and want to help teach the community of our nation's past and present mechanics, this is the museum for you. And if you are a veteran of the United States military we'd love to have you as well! If you can help keep military history alive, come join us! We'd love to have you. No experience needed. Just a love for history, mechanics, or an interest in updating your resume! Help us preserve our steel soldiers!
