Yick Wo Parent Teacher Organization

Description

The Yick Wo PTO is a non-profit organization of parents, teachers, staff, alumni and community friends who are all volunteers serving Yick Wo Alternative Elementary School. Yick Wo is a public school serving the North Beach and Chinatown neighborhoods in San Francisco. The school, located on Lombard and Jones Streets, is home to some 250 local children of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. We received California Distinguished School awards in 1997 and 2000, and became a National Blue Ribbon School in 2006. About 40 percent of our students receive federally subsidized school lunches.
