OneTorch

Description

Our rebuilding strategy for the Southern Gulf Coast is found in the book of Ezra where, following a census, 50,000 displaced residents returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple. Incorporating Ezra's example, OneTorch is collecting data from over 200,000 displaced residents with the expectation of assisting 50,000 in returning to New Orleans. This initiative, called "Our Narrative," is an advocacy project for the displaced poor of the Southern Gulf Coast.

Preparing the Torch -

Doing our part to make it work
- Through research/analysis, advisory services, and workshops we build covenants with community servicing organizations. Our focus is educating community constituencies on ways to overcome financial oppression and pool efforts/resources to achieve desired and unified results.
- We seek to reach displaced residents nation-wide and empower them to participate in defining and rebuilding the Southern Gulf Coast.
- Via the use of market segmentation and solid business practices, OneTorch quantifies community needs in order to facilitate community-led advocacy in partnership with organizations selected by displaced residents. This will ensure that the rebuilding efforts reflect the wants and needs of the residents.
The final reports will be available to residents and will clearly outline their choices. This will allow them to self-advocate with relevant, statistically significant, and actionable data
