Mission Statement

SoBRO is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the South Bronx by strengthening businesses, and creating and implementing innovative economic, housing, educational and career development programs, for youth and adults.

The mission of SoBRO-YouthBuild is to unleash the intelligence and positive energy of low-income youth to rebuild their communities and their lives in which respect, love, responsibility, and cooperation are the dominant unifying values, and sufficient opportunities are available for all people in all communities to fulfill their own potential and contribute to the well-being of others.

Description

SoBRO's YouthBuild program serves "out-of-school" youth with on-the-job construction trades training, preparation for an equivalency diploma, leadership development, and follow-up services. Youthbuild is a nationally supported model that facilitates positive transformation among young adults.
