Mission Statement

Old Town Cape is a community driven, nonprofit organization that utilizes the Four-Point Main Street Approach to preserve, promote, revitalize, and enrich the historic, cultrual, and economic landscapes of downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Description

Old Town Cape formed in 1999 and has been an accredited Main Street program since 2005. This proven revitalization program under the National Trust for Historic Preservation supported by a volunteer group for each of the four points. 4 committees are Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization, and Promotion.

Old Town Cape works in many ways to revitalize downtown Cape Girardeau. We work to promote a positive image of downtown, provide opportunities for people ot visit downtown through events and projects and improve the physical environment, atmosphere and functionality of downtown
