Mission Statement

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death, and a major determinant of illness and disability among infants, including developmental delays, chronic respiratory problems, and vision and hearing impairment. For reasons largely unknown, one-in-ten babies in Oregon is born too soon. The March of Dimes is committed to finding solutions to the problem of premature birth.
