During the Tax Season (Starting the 1st week in February to April 15th). AARP TaxAide Program needs volunteers to help prepare FREE basic tax returns for seniors and low-income individuals. The SHIBA Program is looking for compassionate individuals that love to learn new things and help others. SHIBA volunteers are trained to advocate for seniors, advise on Medicare options, relieve confusion about Medicare, and raise awareness about SHIBA in their community. SHIBA Medicare Counselors are eager to learn information. They are smart and great with talking to people and love getting to work directly with members of their community and share their knowledge. You don't have to have any prior knowledge or experience with Medicare to get involved. We work with varying schedules and situations. If you want to learn more about Medicare and help others do the same, you may be a great fit with the SHIBA Program.

Do you believe in empowering our youth in the Lewiston and Clarkston School Districts to ensure their greatest future? Reading buddies sit with students who struggle to read and provide an opportunity to improve their reading skills. 85% of the children who received help in the 2015-2016 school year were brought up to their reading level, and 100% showed improvement. No teaching experience is necessary to join the America Reads team. All you need is the ability to read and patience with elementary school-aged children. Volunteer from home! Project Warm Up volunteers knit, crochet, or looming Hats Scarves Mittens Lap robes and some other items. The WA-ID Volunteer Center distributes items to the local community nursing homes, veterans home, Coats for Families program, local schools, homeless centers, and many more Non-Profits. Yarn and/or patterns are available in our office if you need them! Make items from Home or come meet our Volunteers that meet on Wednesday's from 1:30 pm to 3 pm at 1424 Main Street, Lewiston.
