Mission Statement

The purpose of Care to Compete Corporation shall be to host events and competitions in order to provide funding for medical research of Chronic Traumatic Ecephelopothy (CTE) at the Boston University Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy(CSTE).

Description

The mission of Care to Compete is to provide long term funding for the research of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) at recognized academic and health care facilities. CTE is a progressive degenerative brain disease which can only be definitively diagnosed postmortem. CTE is found in professional athletes participating in football, ice hockey, wrestling, other non-contact sports, and in military veterans which have received repetitive brain trauma. Individuals with CTE may show symptoms of dementia, such as memory loss, aggression, confusion and depression thought he symptoms generally appear many years or decades after the trauma.

How do we plan to help solve the issue of CTE? in our first year, we plan to host golf fund-raising tournaments at private locations across Massachusetts. We have received a tremendous amount of support from nationally ranked golf courses, and our goal is to accommodate the "average golfer" with access to the best courses in the area at an affordable rate. We will set Care to Compete apart from the competition by donating 100% of the funds raised from the participants to our intended recipients. Not one single dollar taht a golfer spends will go to green fees, food, advertising, salaries, or office space- every dollar will be donated to research and awerness.
