Providing Services for People with Disabilities and Their Families

Children and adults with mental and physical disabilities and special needs find highest-quality services designed to meet their individual needs when they come to Easter Seals - Michigan. Teams of therapists, caseworkers and other health professionals help each person overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Easter Seals - Michigan also includes families as active members of any therapy or treatment program through Person Centered Planning, and offers the support families need. AgrAbility: A program helping farmers who are injured while on the job. Services include therapy and help with obtaining adaptive equipment.

Children's Health Services: Easter Seals - Michigan offers a variety of Children's Health Services, depending on a child's individual mental or physical health needs.

Developmental Disabilities Services: Easter Seals - Michigan offers many programs throughout Michigan for people with developmental disabilities.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment Services: For those experiencing both mental illness and substance abuse issues Easter Seals-Michigan offers the following programs:

Adult Mental Health Services
Serves Oakland County, MI adults over age 18 with co-occurring serious and persistent mental illness and substance abuse

Family Mental Health Services
Serves Oakland County youths up to age 18 and their families with co-occurring serious emotional disturbance and substance abuse


Collaborative Solutions
Pre and post-adjudication services for Oakland County adults over age 18 and involved with the criminal justice system in need treatment for co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.

El Centro la Familia
Offers a continuum of services in Spanish, including treatment for co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.

The Easter Seals programs offering treatment for co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse are primarily funded through the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority. El Centro la Familia also receives funding through SAMHSA, accepts some private insurance and private pay.

Jail Diversion & Post-Adjudication Services - Collaborative Solutions: This program is designed to prevent incarceration or re-incarceration in jail by people in the criminal justice system. The program also offers dual-diagnosis treatment for people with co-occuring mental health and substance abuse issues for clients in Oakland County, MI.

Mental Health Services: Easter Seals - Michigan offers a variety of Mental Health programs for children and adults, depending on a client's needs.

Residential Services: This program offers two types of homes for persons with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness including small group homes settings and semi-independent homes. This program is a service of Adult Mental Health Services.

Senior Services: Programs to help senior citizens re-enter society after experiencing a life-altering physical event such as heart attack, stroke, etc.

Spanish Language Services - El Centro La Familia: A program catering to the mental health and substance abuse needs of the Hispanic community.
