Mission Statement

Humanities Tennessee is dedicated to developing a sense of community through educational programs in the humanities across Tennessee.

Description

The Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word is a free, three-day event bringing readers and writers together to celebrate the joy and importance of literature. The Festival celebrates its 20th year welcoming more than 200 authors from across the country for readings, panel discussions and book signings. Book lovers have the opportunity to hear from and meet some of America's foremost writers in fiction, history, mystery, biography, travel, poetry and children's literature. The 2008 Festival will be held in downtown Nashville October 10-12 on War Memorial Plaza and the State Capitol.
