Description

Children's Hospital Blood Donor Center provides blood products donated by volunteers for children needing transfusions while at the hospital. The Blood Donor Center can collect whole blood and platelet donations. The whole blood units are used for children who require transfusions as a result of accidents, illnesses, or injuries. Platelets are used to clot blood and control bleeding. Additionally, the Blood Donor Center provides special services including the Autogolous Donor Program, Directed Donor Program and blood drives.
