The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Activities past and present:
October - December 2014 presented workshop to 3rd - 5th graders at the John Avery impart principles for self-esteem and respect towards others.
June and November 2015 - conducted workshops that were designed to motivate and encourage the women who support incarcerated men at the Butner Federal Correctional Prison in Butner, NC.
April 2016 - Collaborated with Housing for New Hope to create packets for over 100 homeless people in Durham, NC.
May - June 2016 - Collaborated with Party of One to help solicit donations for their fundraiser to continue to provide free exercise and fitness through fun experiences.
September 2016 - Healthy Living Expo in Durham, NC - Bringing together local healthcare leaders, fitness experts and the public, to discuss healthy living ideas and suggestions that are easy to incorporate into your daily lifestyle.
December 2016 - Co-sponsoring a Diaper and Personal Products Drive for needy women and children in Raleigh.
January - December 2017 - Sharing principles for respect and healthy living with students in Orange County.
