Description
We are a nonprofit organization that has been locally recognized for excellence in childcare. We were founded in 1971 by Lula Mae Bluntson. Our centers are Gold Seal accredited by APPLE. We have low teacher/child ratios, an experienced staff, and a superior program that helps children become leaders.
We use the creative curriculum by Teaching Strategies which is a researched based curriculum, which focuses on six areas; social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematics. This curriculum is used with our infant, toddlers, two’s, and preschool age children. We also use the Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tool to track our children’s outcomes from birth to 5 years old.
We provide childcare services to low-income families. We serve breakfast, lunch, and snack to over 180 kids daily that totals to about 133,000 meals annually. The children are in our care on average 9 hours a day that totals to about 2,232 hours a year per child and 401,460 hours a year for an average of 180 kids. We also provide mental health services to our children and families through our partnership with Center for Child Counseling.
Our partners include: Head Start, Children’s Services Council, and Center for Child Counseling, Extended Hands Community Outreach, Family Central, Early Learning Coalition, Child Care Food Program, and Bridges.
