The organization 'Saturday Academy and Learning Center are supplemental instructional initiative which helps low income, at-risk youth develop math skills and helps them pass the MCAS Math exams....

Our agency organize weekly instruction on Saturdays 12:00 (noon) to 2;30 pm for low income, at-risk disadvantaged children and youth to improve their Math skills and help them pass the MCAS and GED exams. The ' Saturday Academy was established to address the need for supplemental instruction in Math and Science on the part of middle and high school students in the Hyde Park , Mattapan and Roslindale neighborhoods of Boston. This program provides supplemental Math and Science instruction and in the core academic subject of reading, language arts to low achieving middle and high school students in Boston's challenging neighborhoods, who have academic skills significantly below grade level or who have not attained proficiency on State academic assessment. Supplementary instruction will be delivered after school from 3:00pm--6:00pm each weekday and on Saturdays 12:00 (neen)--2:30 pm The program use instructional strategies that are based on practices that have proven effective for improving the academic performance of low-achieving students. The main goal of our agency Learning Center and Saturday Academy is to improve the academic performance of academically needy middle and high school students in our community
