Mission Statement

Helping Hands Women's Outreach Ministries is for and about helping women transition from prison and/or jail and helping women with drug related problems.

Description

HHWOM-General Purpose is to provide mentoring, Christian counseling, and other support an assistance to women who are transitioning from prison and/or struggling with addictions.

We need your financial support. Is there any greater challenge for the individual adult in America today than to devote a small but significant part of his or her time or financial support to helping another individual? This could be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

A new study by the University of Connecticut (UConn) Health Center and Yale University School of Medicine finds that women experience more medical complications and housing, employment challenges upon release from prison than men. Hence, the recidivism rate for women has increased by 300% in the last ten years. As of today, there are 1,050,000 women in prison, jail, on parole, or probation in the US. Most of these women are non violent drug offenders.

Stopping this tide can stem from individuals who are willing to serve as mentors to transitioning women who, with consistent support will make it through housing issues, into good paying jobs and into self-reliance.

Our twelve weeks Emotional Healing program allows women to receive emotional and spiritual support while they learn how to once again become a part of society. We need your Help!
