World Share creates and serves an international network of locally based cmmunity organizations engaged in self help food distribution systems, economic development, community service and educational programs. World SHARE provides resources and technology to build and support self-sustaining community institutions in which all may participate, serve and lead with dignity. World SHARE's efforts are rooted in response to a spiritual call to social justice.

Description

We offer a box of food once a month for $14 in cash or food stamps and 2 hours community service.

AFTER 25 YEARS, THE FINAL S.H.A.R.E. PROGRAM DISTRIBUTION The S.H.A.R.E. (Self-Help and Resource Exchange) food and community service program will hold its final Distribution Day on September 25. The Board of Directors of New River Community Action (NRCA), which sponsors the local S.H.A.R.E. program, took action at its September 16 meeting to end the project due to declining participation and rising operating costs. According to Terry Smusz, NRCA Executive Director, "It is with much regret that NRCA is forced to end our S.H.A.R.E. program, a significant component of this agency's "hand up" and self-help mission for more than twenty-five years."
