Mission Statement

Teaching love and respect for animals through eduction and communication.

Description

The Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary is a non-for-profit sanctuary, we are NOT a zoo. We rescue zoo type animals, which have been captive born and bred for multiple generations.

None of our resident animals have been taken out of the wild and they were purely bread for commercial purposes, such as TV use, petting zoos and private "entertainment". Zoos will not care for these animals due to their physical and/or mental conditions.

Currently we house a selection of tigers, lions, bears, cervals, macaws, coyotes, coati mundis and others, all of which came from private households, circuses or rescues that were unable to take care of them.

The Octagon is set in a rural environment and boasts many interesting plants and trees too.
