We are recruiting for our Associates Board! ABOUT CITY YEAR City Year seeks to support student success, advance educational equity and nurture the next generation of civically engaged leaders. Each year, we recruit AmeriCorps members to serve in some of Los Angeles’ most under-resourced schools full-time as 'student success coaches’. Younger than teachers but older than students, these "near-peers" are uniquely positioned to form strong bonds with students, helping them to cultivate foundational social, emotional, and academic skills that set them up for success at school and in life. City Year raises $8M a year not only to support students, but also to prepare AmeriCorps members to lead and make meaningful contributions to where they live and work. To ensure the sustainability of our work, we rely on volunteers to give, to help raise awareness of our work, and to help connect us to others who share our passion for working towards a world where all students have access to the support and resources they need to grow and thrive. CITY YEAR’S ASSOCIATES BOARD Currently numbering 16 professionals from a variety of industries and backgrounds, Associates Board members demonstrate that City Year LA is a philanthropic priority by making an annual personal contribution (give or get) of $3,000 or more and does some or all of the following: Champions the work of City Year by introducing their personal and professional networks through events and formal introductions Providing mentorship, professional development guidance, and other forms of enrichment to AmeriCorps members Actively supports our annual fall fundraiser, Eat.
