Description

We are leading hospital with accalades of being a great teaching hospital. The environment is warm, accepting and embraces volunteers.

Scripps Green Hospital has served the La Jolla and greater San Diego communities with distinction since 1977, offering a variety of medical "firsts"--including San Diego’s first liver transplant program and one of the nation’s first hospitals to provide stem cell transplants. We have a close working relationship with physicians from Scripps Clinic, many of whom perform surgeries and other procedures at Scripps Green Hospital.

After many extended stays in this hospital, I have been so impressed with not only the doctors and nurses that saved my life, but the organization as a whole. There is a certain pride and a high level of commitment in the entire staff that makes me feel part of the Scripps family. I look forward every week to being there and would recommend everyone to come out and be a part of this team!

From the initial experience during my volunteer orientation at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, I could tell that I was going to benefit greatly from having offered my time as a volunteer. All volunteers in my group were of different backgrounds and had varying goals for their involvement at the hospital, ranging from nursing and medical students to retirees just looking to lend a helping hand. I was fortunate enough, with the help of the hard-working duo in the volunteer office Kimberly and Darlene, to be placed in the cardiac catheterization unit. I learned so much, was able to interact with all levels of healthcare professionals, and all while feeling that my time and hard work was being noticed and appreciated. I am truly grateful to have spent over 100 hours as a volunteer at Scripps Green and would recommend the experience to anyone looking for a friendly, caring, and professional atmosphere to volunteer their time!
