Mission Statement

The mission of the Dementia Care Foundation is to provide ALL seniors in need of specialized demntia care, regardless of financial ability, access to choices in the selection of a "quality" homelike environment, superior appropriate care for their needs, and emotional and spiritual support on their journey.

Access to facilities using the Lakeview Ranch Model of Specialized dementia care is central to our mission!

Description

The Dementia Care Foundation was started in 2000 as a MN 501c3 non-profit organization to raise funds for direct care support for those in need of specialized appropriate dementia care!

As the Dementia Care Foundation has evolved we have become aware of the dire need for a network of specially trained volunteers that are experts in understanding dementia, it's varying causes and its progression through end of life, that also have effective communication skills, and are able to offer effective personal support to those with dementia and their families.

Our goal is to develop a network of highly skilled Volunteer Dementia Care Specialists that can be a support system to seniors with dementia not only in long term care facilities around the country but in their local communities.
