Mission Statement
The Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires free clinic provides access to quality health care for income qualified, uninsured residents of the Berkshire region in a respectful and caring manner.
Description
Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires (VIM Berkshires) is a free, not-for-profit healthcare clinic that serves eligible, uninsured, adults in the Berkshires, MA region. VIM clinical volunteers provide dental, medical, mental health, optometry, nutritional counselling, acupuncture and massage therapy. Patient clinical services are supported by administrative volunteers who volunteer in the front office, communications efforts, fundraising, interpretation, and all other administrative roles needed to run a free healthcare not-for-profit.
VIM provides a respectful and caring atmosphere for patients and volunteers alike; appointments are scheduled to offer adequate time so that providers and patients are not rushed. Everyone - patients, volunteers and staff - are treated with dignity and respect, towards a goal of building community based on teamwork and collaboration.
