Our purpose is to provide decent housing and homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income people; to steward and preserve the affordability of that housing in perpetuity; to promote the ecologically sound use of land and natural resources and the long-term health and safety of the community, and to promote and support cooperative development throughout the community.

Description

Champlain Housing Trust is Vermont's largest provider of affordable housing. We are a grassroots, membership-based organization that manages some 1600 affordable rental apartments and stewards over 400 owned homes in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. Our organization ensures access to perpetually affordable housing through stewardship of community owned land and properties, and a shared-appreciation model that creates ownership options for moderate-income families.
