Mission Statement
The Mission of the Western North Carolina Historical Association is to educate the public by promoting the preservation of regional history through the collection, care, and exhibition of artifacts that tell the history of the mountain region; the presentation of public programs; the care and intrepretation of the Smith McDowell House Museum and gardens; and the facilitation of cooperation among regional historical organizations.
