Mission Statement

The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae , achieves its mission--to increase access to higher education for America's students--by supporting programs and initiatives that help open doors to higher education, prepare families for their college investment, and bridge the gap when no one else can. In addition, The Sallie Mae Fund encourages employee volunteerism and community service in the more than a dozen communities where Sallie Mae employees live and work.

Description

In honor of the philanthropic commitment of more than 12,000 Sallie Mae employees nationwide, The Sallie Mae Fund offers generous charitable contribution programs to energize communities where Sallie Mae employees live and work.

The Sallie Mae matching gifts program matches the personal contributions of every Sallie Mae employee to encourage them to support education, as well as other non-profit organizations.

Through the Dollars for Doers employee contribution program, Sallie Mae employees who volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per year or serve on a board may apply for a $250 grant from The Sallie Mae Fund to the organization.
