Preserving Raleigh's Past for the Future
The museum is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of our state's capital city, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Description
The Raleigh City Museum relies on the generosity of our community and our visitors to support us in preserving our local heritage and honoring our forefathers and mothers. Admission is Free!
We collect historical artifacts on loan and/or by donation for inclusion in the museum. We offer reprints of photos, use of our classroom/resource room, and educational programs on and offsite for schools, civic clubs, senior groups and corporate events.
The Raleigh City Museum's Gift Shop promotes work by local artists and includes everything from books, jewelry, pottery, music, photography and paintings.
Our facility is available for R ental for meetings and special events. Gift Shop sales, facility rentals and donations aid us in supporting our expenses and staff payroll.
