Mission Statement
The mission of the "Hole-n-One" Junior Golf Program is to introduce the game of golf to youth 4-15 years of age in a recreational setting to maximize the "fun" aspect of the game. This program maintains a low competitive experience allowing young players to enjoy themselves while learning the rules, etiquette, conduct and techniques of golf. All skill levels are welcomed with each child receiving equal attention. The goal is to make every child feel successful and to have a great amount of fun.
Description
Broken Tee Englewood Golf Course is designed, operated and maintained for the enjoyment of the entire family. It includes an 18 Hole (Par 72) championship course and a Dye design 9 Hole Par 3 course. The facility also has a lighted grass driving range, lighted chipping and putting greens, pro-shop, indoor training center, and a complete restaurant and banquet facility. The golf course is operated by the City of Englewood; however, the golf course is considered an enterprise account. This means that the golf course does not receive any money from the City of Englewood budget. The golf course is a stand alone operation and the income must cover all the expenses. Englewood is a low to middle income community of 30,000 residents. 658 household have annual incomes under $5,000. 5,098 households have income under $20,000. 32% of the school district's 4,500 students are eligible for free or reduced lunches.
In 2000, the golf course began the "Hole-n-One" Junior Golf Program for 5-15 year old youths. The program began in 2000 with 188 participants. In 2007, there were 406 junior participants. Over the last 8 years, the program has grown by 120%!
